Since its debut, Godzilla has become one of the most iconic sypbols of japanese culture. The Godzilla movies were some of the first pieces of japanese culturl brought to america, thus making the name godzilla synonomous with japanese movies. Likewise, in some of Godzillas origional films he was portrayed as a mediphor for America, and the distruction Godzilla causes is also a mediphore for the atomic bombings in japan. Since then Godzilla has been adopted into american film making and has been reimaged as the bringer of destruction or even the savior of humanity. Godzilla even has movies planned to come out as late as 2020.
