The Martian Review
Overall:
The Martian was an a amazing movie that mostly covers the topics of the book by Andy Weir. Warning if you are a book person you probably did not enjoy this movie due to its lack of some important plot details
Final Score:
Score:8.5/10
Graphics The Graphics in the movie were very impressive. The special effects in the movies made the planet model and the ground scenes feel complete. 9/10
Plot The plot of the movie stayed relatively close to the book. Although the second sandstorm was not present unfortunately. As a person who read the book it made me a little angry that they left out an important plot detail. They did display the characters well so they achieve an 8/10
Scientific accuracy The book was much more scientfically accurate than the movie because it explained more of the specific science that went into it. The movie neglected most of it. 6.5/10
Lead Character Acting Matt Damon personofied Mark Watney very well, he used the same sort of humor as the main character did and performed the best out of the cast with the vast amount of screen time he had.9/10
Length There is something left to be desired here with the movie medium. For a movie it is paced well but it loses the incredible pacing of the book, were each event was clearly explained and demonstrated throught he written journal of Mark Watney. The move overall though had a good pacing and kept me interested throughout it. 8.7/10
Topics for Improvement
:
    1. The pacing of the movie was much faster than the book. In my opinion it could have been slowed down a little.
    2. The book was much more explanatory about the specific science which is helpful in the explanation of the explosion which is quite critical to the plot. The movie neglected the entire explanation of it.
    3. Finally, the movie neglects the second sandstorm which is major obstacle in Mark Wattney's journey to the spaceship module at the end of the movie.
