For example, The Q offers anywhere between $100 and $1,000 to anyone who can answer 12 multiple-choice trivia questions correctly. However, the prize is normally split between 5-100 people, causing the monetary prizes to drop much lower. Sometimes, depending on the app, the number of questions can vary (5-15) and the prizes can have a big range ($100-$10,000). However, the biggest trivia app (and the original app) is called HQ Trivia. HQ Trivia consistently gets over 1 million people per game and has offered up to $50,000 in one game, with the highest prize to one person in one game at around $8,333. Although the chance of winning (to be discussed in detail later on) is slim, the monetary prizes offered are what fuels the players to keep playing, even after losing many times.
